I saw an interesting DVD over the weekend, “Burning The Future: Coal in America”. This documentary was largely shot in a small town in Southern West Virginia about 4-5 hours from us. The movie focuses on the impact coal has on the environment and lives of those in the community.   You see how the coal companies are using mountain top removal as the method of mining coal in many areas now. The DVD does a good job of showing the devastation these mining techniques are having on the environment in West Virginia and other states. 1.4 million acres of mountains have now been obliterated by mountain top removal coal mining. To learn more check out the website, www.burningthefuture.com.
